The Final Conference of HEALING project was conducted on July 11th 2023 at the University of Jordan.with the presence of more than 100 participants from Jordan, Tunisia and EU countries. 

Prof. Mamoun Al-Debei, the representative of the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research, said that we are witnessing together the final conference of the HEALING art therapy project, which aims to develop multiple diplomas in art therapy in health education in Jordan and Tunisia. This project aims to achieve the objectives of the plan concerned with developing higher education, achieving progress and innovation in the field of health care, maximizing the use of resources, building human capital, and empowering creative students.

He added that this project reflects the commitment of both the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Jordan to develop a flexible educational system that meets the needs of students and society. He also pointed out that art therapy is a powerful tool for promoting mental and emotional health and personal balance, through the development of training and professional diplomas in this field, with the aim of enabling educational and professional staff to adopt and direct these methods in their teaching and work.

Prof. Nathir Obeidat, the president of the University of Jordan, confirmed that this project, which aims to develop multiple diplomas in art therapy in health education in Jordan and Tunisia, came to enhance critical thinking and innovation in the field of health. 

Empowering professors and students, by adapting art for learning purposes, to address complex health issues. He also pointed out that music has become part of medical education and physical medical treatments to reach levels of healing.

And the Director of the Erasmus Plus National Office in Jordan, Dr. Ahmed Abu Al-Haija, stated that the European Union is constantly responding to global challenges, and its interest in contemporary issues reflects its various programs contained in the Erasmus Plus program.,He said that the program is considered one of the most important tools to respond to the changing labor market requirements, and an important tool for the development of higher education and the exchange of experiences between Jordanian universities and their European counterparts. From this standpoint, we must take advantage of the support provided by the program to improve and develop education and its methods in Jordan.​​


The project manager, Prof. Ahmed Al-Salaymeh, confirmed that the project, supported by the European Union within the Erasmus Plus program, has been being run by the University of Jordan in cooperation with 14 partners from Jordanian, European and Tunisian universities for three and a half years.

He pointed out that the art therapy project aimed to enhance and improve the quality of education in the partner countries by integrating the concept of art therapy into the educational process and promoting it further.​
Musical performances on art therapy were also presented, and an exhibition for students of the College of Art and Design and students of the art therapy program dealt with their most important works, in addition to a short video about the program’s experience.

The opening ceremony of the closing project was attended by the vice-presidents of the University of Jordan, a number of deans of faculties and students, heads of Jordanian universities participating in the project, and the commander of the Capital Region.
It is noteworthy that the project work program will be completed tomorrow, Wednesday, at Irbid National University, and the day after tomorrow at the University of Jordan.
