The Board of Trustees of the University of Jordan approved the accreditation of the "Professional Diploma in Art Therapy" program in the School of Art and Design, with effect from the start of the academic year 2022/2021.
Students of this specialization will obtain this professional diploma in Art Therapy, which includes music therapy, drama therapy, visual arts therapy, such as painting, sculpture and ceramic molding.
The School of Art and Design worked alongside the schools of Medicine and Rehabilitation Sciences, in cooperation with the European Union project (Erasmus Plus) - HEALING, to include this program within the academic programs at the university, as the registration mechanism for students will be announced later through the website that will be devoted to the program at the School of Art.
The Priority firstly will be for students who have completed a bachelor’s degree in the arts, medicine, rehabilitation and nursing sciences, and then students of the educational psychology major, will be accepted into this program. Other majors will be accepted according to the vacancies available each year.
The duration of study in this program will be one year (2 semesters), during which the student will obtain a professional diploma in art therapy, so that students of the program who specialize in medicine and rehabilitation sciences can directly practice art therapy in clinics.
As for students of the program from other specializations, they can work as an assistant in a psychotherapy or rehabilitation clinic and other related fields
