As part of its strategy to modernize curricula and promote internationalization, Al-Istiqlal University hosted a Training of Trainers (TOT) workshop, titled: "Enhancing ICT Competencies of Early Childhood Education Faculty in Higher Education Institutions in the Middle East and North Africa."
The training equipped the academic staff with cutting-edge digital skills and tools to enhance the quality of higher education and keep pace with rapid technological advancements. The training was held on two sessions, while the first session focused on the application of several innovative pedagogical approaches in education, the second session also discussed the integration of computational thinking with Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), the roles of Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) in creating immersive educational experiences, and the use of tools like the Merge Object Viewer for 3D learning contexts, emphasizing the importance of strengthening digital capacities of university educators during the technological advancement.
