About: Baha Alzalg is a professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Jordan in Amman, Jordan. He has also held the post of visiting associate professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. His research interests include topics in optimization theory, applications, and algorithms, with an emphasis on interior-point methods for cone programming.

Alzalg is a PhD graduate of Washington State University in Pullman, Washington. After graduation, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, Davis. During his career, he authored a book published by Wiley titled 'Combinatorial and Algorithmic Mathematics: From Foundation to Optimization'. He also published numerous articles in leading journals in mathematical optimization and mentored several PhD and Master's students in this field.
