Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan (henceforth, ZUJ) was established in March, 1993. Instruction began on September 6, 1993, and since then ZUJ has witnessed considerable progress, at both the infrastructure and academic levels. It now includes seven faculties, encompassing 26 undergraduate and 9 graduates program.
Academic & Administrative Staff: There are 350 faculty members of various ranks distributed among the seven faculties of the university, and 90 teaching and research assistants and lab technicians. In addition, there are 219 administrative employees and 272 workers.
The Faculty of Engineering at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan is seeking to be a leading professional school in the region. The Faculty of Engineering offers educational programs of the highest standards, promotes research and creative scholarly activities of its faculty and students, and provides services to the community at large, while addressing the needs of Jordan and the region. The Faculty of Engineering undergoes continuous improvement to maintain a challenging and intellectually stimulating environment, and prepares its students to be life-long learners, innovators, and professionals capable of being leaders in their chosen careers, committed to personal integrity and civic responsibility.
Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan recognized the need for engineering education in the field of hybrid engineering; consequently, two programs leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Engineering have been established, one of these programs was established in 2009 at the Department of Computer and Communication Engineering, the other program is offered by the department of Civil and Infrastructure Engineering. The faculty established another two programs in 2011: Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Systems Engineering at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the other program is offered by the Department of Architectural Engineering. The faculty established two new programs in 2015: Alternative Energy Technology at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the other program is offered by the Department of Power and Control Engineering.
