The general objectives of the chair are: establish a knowledge base, disseminate knowledge, enrich curricula and enhance regional and international dialogue in the area of  Wadi Hydrology and integrated water resources management. The specific objectives are:
Better understanding of the role of institutions of higher education as producers and disseminators of knowledge in the context of new requirements and rapid changes on the labor market.
Upgrading and enrichment of curricula, particularly those provided by university institutes on water resources subjects.
Launching of international comparative research programms on Wadi Hydrology and water resources management towards the 21st century.
Establishment of national and international dialogues between intellectual entrepreneurs, educators, researchers and policy makers on the application of human knowledge towards global sustainable development of Water resources.
Developing regional training programs in cooperation with two regional Arab networks in Wadi Hydrology and Groundwater Protection.
