The Accreditation Commission on Colleges of Medicine (ACCM) has granted the University of Jordan (UJ) Faculty of Medicine full unconditional accreditation for six year, according to the faculty’s Dean, Prof. Islam Massad.
“The faculty is the first to obtain this accreditation outside of the US and the Caribbean,” Prof. Massad said.
Earlier this year, a delegation from ACCM conducted a 4-day field visit to UJ to inspect the faculty and its affiliated facilities after a self evaluation report was filed by the school to ACCM.
The purpose of the visit was to inspect the faculty’s compliance with ACCM’s elements of accreditation (standards) including admissions, curriculum, educational goals, financial resources, facilities and equipment, management, and corporate organization.
The faculty has been found in compliance with ACCM’s standards, which confirms that our graduates are equipped with internationally benchmarked degrees.
Through international accreditation, the first and oldest medical school in Jordan aims to increase professional and educational opportunities for its students and graduates.
